Agenda Items

Administration of Oaths of Office

  • Mayor Datsko will administer the oath to:
    • Charlen Remillard (reelected Tax Collector)
    • Suzanne Stevens (newly elected Councilor)
    • Theresa Jacoby, Susan Kuhar, and Doug Tusing (re-elected Councilors)

Call to Order & Pledge of Allegiance

  • Led by Mayor Datsko.

Public Comments

  • The public may comment on any agenda item at this time.

1. Election of Council President

  • Nominations will be opened by the Mayor.
  • Voting will proceed one candidate at a time until a majority is reached.

2. Election of Council Vice-President

  • The same procedure as the President's election will be followed.

3. Administrative Appointments

  • Item 3A: Appoint Pawlowski, Long & Gribler as Borough Solicitor.
  • Item 3B: Appoint the Borough Manager as Secretary/Treasurer.
  • Item 3C: Appoint the Borough Manager as Property Maintenance Enforcement Officer.
  • Item 3D: Appoint GFT Infrastructure, Inc. as Borough Engineers.
  • Item 3E: Designate First National Bank, First Commonwealth Bank, AmeriServ Financial Bank, 1st Summit Bank, and PLGIT as depositories.

4. Appointments to Authorities, Boards & Commissions

  • Item 4A (Ebensburg Municipal Authority): Appoint Heather Abbs to a 5-year term expiring 12/2028.
  • Item 4B (Ebensburg Zoning Hearing Board): Reappoint Carol Rummel to a 3-year term expiring 12/2028.
  • Item 4C (Ebensburg Civil Service Commission): Reappoint Ronald Stempka to a 6-year term expiring 12/2031.
  • Item 4D (Ebensburg Civil Service Commission): Reappoint Tim Myers as alternate for a 1-year term expiring 12/2026.
  • Item 4E (Vacancy Board): Appoint Charles Moyer to a 1-year term expiring 12/2026.
  • Item 4F (Central Cambria Emergency Management Council): Reappoint John Hawksworth and Chief Mike Sheehan to 1-year terms expiring 12/2026 and 12/2024, respectively.
  • Item 4G (Cambria Somerset Council of Governments): Reappoint Borough Manager as delegate.
  • Item 4H (Cambria County Tax Collection Committee): Reappoint Borough Manager as delegate; appoint Central Cambria School District Business Manager as alternate.
  • Item 4I (Laurel Municipal Inspection Agency): Reappoint Borough Manager as delegate.

5. Meeting Dates

  • Item 5A: Monthly meetings will be held on the 4th Monday of each month at 6:30 p. m. during 2026, except for May and December, which will be on the third Monday.

6. Other Business

  • Item 6A: Formalize rules for public comment at Council Meetings.
    • Comments are limited to five minutes per person.
    • Speakers must state their name and address.
    • A second opportunity for public comment will be provided near the end of the meeting.
  • Item 6B: Formalize rules for appointments to address Council.
    • Written notice is required at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting.

7. Media Comments/Questions

  • Representatives of the media are invited to comment and ask questions on any issues.

8. Public Comments

  • A final opportunity for the public to comment on any issues, whether or not they are on the agenda.
