Consent Agenda
The following routine items are recommended for approval by a single motion:
- Reports: Approval of Inframark reports for Wastewater and Water Treatment Plant Operations.
- Minutes: Approval of the March 25, 2024 regular monthly meeting minutes.
- Financials: Approval of the March financial statement, quarterly transfers, and payment of April bills totaling $252,024. 37.
Recreation Committee
- Lake Rowena Dredging: Staff recommends approving an agreement with TranSystems Engineering not to exceed $14,500 for an expanded grant application to the Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation.
- Tennis Center Repairs: The center is experiencing worsening moisture issues. Repair costs are estimated between $150,000 and $200,000. The Borough will put this out for bid.
- Playground Equipment: Approval of Resolution 2024-02 to update a Local Share grant for playground equipment. The amount has been adjusted from $120,000 to $143,229.
Summer Hires (Administration Committee)
The following applicants were hired for summer employment. Pay rates are $10. 50/hour for public works and lifeguards, $11. 50/hour for head lifeguards, and $14. 50/hour for the pool manager.
- Summer Public Works: Tobey Bequet, Brock Martin, Bob Koscho, Jace Koss, Henry Bradley, Isaac Bradley, Sophie Bequet, Alec Prokop, William Tremel, Benjamin Ream, Carter Rummel.
- Swimming Pool Manager: Nolan Johnson (9th year).
- Co-Head Lifeguards: Abbey O’Brien, Karson Johnson (both 6th year).
- Lifeguards: Jaylee Sikora, Elizabeth Bopp, Tessa Novotny, Loralyn Simmers, Jewel Sikora, Maggie McCullough, Kayden Magulick, Maya Sirsikar, Gwendalyn Fodor, Naveen Sirsikar, Jemma Sikora, Broderick Ryan, Ian Estep, Victoria Griffith, Devan Wasser, Reagan Tronzo, Keira Link, Angus Ryan, Alaina Long, Rowyn Ruddek, Aubrey Ruddek.
General Business
- Ebensburg Municipal Airport:
- Approval to engage Diviney & Associates to inspect repair work on the closed Hangar.
- Approval of a Runway Lighting Design Agreement to apply for federal funding.
- Approval of Design Agreements for Bipartisan Infrastructure projects (fencing and obstruction removal).
- Ordinance #670: Final approval for an ordinance allowing the Borough to incur lease rental debt under the Pennsylvania Local Government Unit Debt Act. This guarantees a loan of $3,389,310 for the Stormwater Project.
- Planning Commission Vacancy: Appointment of Greg Illig to fill the vacant term ending December 2024.
- Municipal Parking Lot: The current lease expires in August. The Borough is considering a new long-term lease or an offer to acquire the property from a potential buyer.
