This is the 2025 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report for the Greater Johnstown Water Authority Saltlick, located in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania. The report covers water quality data collected between January 1 and December 31, 2025.

Water Source & System Information

  • Source: Saltlick Reservoir (surface water).
  • Location: The reservoir is in the Village of Mineral Point, East Taylor Township. Water is pumped to the Saltlick Treatment Plant west of the reservoir off Mineral Point Road.
  • Risk Assessment: A Source Water Assessment by the PA Department of Environmental Protection (Pa. DEP) found the source is most susceptible to mining activities, utility substations, oil/gas wells, junkyards, and petroleum storage facilities. Overall risk of significant contamination is considered "little to moderate. "

Water Quality Results (2025)

The report confirms that all detected contaminants were within state and federal safety limits.

Chemical Contaminants

  • Total Trihalomethanes (TTHM's): Annual average of 37. 44 ppb (Limit: 80 ppb).
  • Haloacetic Acids (HAA5's): Annual average of 29. 725 ppb (Limit: 60 ppb).
  • Barium: Detected at . 047 ppm (Limit: 2 ppm).
  • Chlorine: Detected at 0. 97 ppm (Limit: 4. 0 ppm).

Disinfectant Residuals

  • Entry Point Chlorine: Lowest level detected was 0. 70 ppm (Minimum required: 0. 20 ppm).

Lead and Copper

  • Lead: The 90th percentile value was 0. 015 ppb (Action Level: 15 ppb). No sites exceeded the action level.
  • Copper: The 90th percentile value was 0. 237 ppm (Action Level: 1. 3 ppm). No sites exceeded the action level.

Health & Safety Information

  • Vulnerable Populations: Individuals with cancer undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, people with HIV/AIDS or other immune disorders, the elderly, and infants are at higher risk from infections.
  • Lead Risks: Lead primarily comes from service lines and home plumbing. The Authority cannot control materials inside a customer's home.
  • Safety Tips: To reduce lead exposure, flush pipes for several minutes before drinking or cooking. Use filters certified by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
