Ebensburg Municipal Authority: January 2026 Monthly Report

Date: February 23rd, 2026 Submitted by: Luke Byrne, Inframark

Executive Summary & Operations

Inframark submitted its monthly report for January 2026, detailing operations and maintenance of the collection and distribution system. Key activities included:

  • Leak Detection: Staff performed weekly leak detection using listening equipment. A leak was discovered at the intersection of Hillcrest and Elderwood Drive; repairs are scheduled pending weather.
  • Investigations:
    • On January 8th, staff investigated excessive groundwater on Pine Street with Borough crews. It does not appear to be a water leak at this time.
    • A soft area in the parking lot behind Holy Name Church was investigated, but no water leak was found.
  • Main Breaks: Two water main breaks occurred:
    • A full circle break on a four-inch cast iron pipe on Forest Drive in Mylo.
    • A ¾ circle break on an eight-inch cast iron pipe.
    • Borough crews completed both repairs without service interruption.
  • Metering: Zone meters on Anne Street were integrated into the meter reading software, generating daily usage reports to monitor system flows.
  • Pump Stations: Drinking water pumping stations were inspected regularly. Tasks included greasing pumps/motors, inspecting packing glands and Ogden tank for leaks, calibrating instruments, and cleaning/sweeping stations. Stations were plowed and salted during winter weather.
  • Sewer Lift Stations: All three lift stations were inspected. Tasks included documenting pump runtime, inspecting generators, pumping down wet wells, checking flanges/seats for leaks, and cleaning basket screeners. Floats/transducers were found to be working properly. Lift station buildings were swept and cleaned. Annual data was prepared for Chapter 94 reports.
