Ebensburg Municipal Authority: March 2026 Monthly Report Summary

Executive Summary

Inframark conducted regular leak detection throughout March using listening equipment. Several leaks were identified and repairs are being scheduled by the Public Works Director.

  • March 2 Repair: Inframark and Borough crews repaired a leak on West Horner Street.

    • Affected 28 customers.
    • Replaced an 8 ft section of mainline (including old fire hydrant tee) with new plastic pipe.
    • Boil water notice was lifted promptly after sampling confirmed safety.
    • Required paperwork for loss of positive pressure submitted to PA DEP.
  • Fire Flow Flushing: Inframark supervised Cam Tran’s inspection (required for building permit). Public notice issued regarding expected dirty water.

  • Large Leaks Identified:

    • One on 16-inch line down Beech Street.
    • One on Highland Avenue (near storm water project area).
    • Coordinating repairs with Borough staff.
  • Pumping Stations: Regular inspections, greasing of pumps/motors, packing gland checks, Ogden tank leak/operation check, Hillcrest & Ogden vault pumping, weekly sampling/calibration, and cleaning completed.

  • Sewer Lift Stations: Regular inspections; electrical fault cleared at CAT station after power outage. Pump runtime documented, generators inspected, wet wells pumped down, flanges/seats checked (no leaks found), floats/transducers verified working, basket screeners cleaned, buildings swept/cleaned.

  • Calibrated handheld instrumentation per PA DEP rules.
  • Collected comparative grab samples to verify continuous chlorine analyzer accuracy.
  • Ongoing monitoring of water quality in distribution system.
