Ebensburg Municipal Authority: December 2022 Monthly Reports
Inframark submitted two separate monthly reports for the Ebensburg water and wastewater treatment facilities, dated January 23, 2022.
Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Report
Executive Summary & Operations:
- Production: The plant treated 28,377,000 gallons of reservoir water in December (avg. 915,387 gallons/day). An additional 63,303 gallons per day were purchased from Saltlick.
- Elevated Tank: The tank was filled on December 7th for sampling. While samples were compliant, the PA DEP denied reactivation until construction completion is submitted and a fee is paid.
- Filter Inspection: Filter #3 was inspected and found to be in excellent condition; media analysis results are pending.
- Unaccounted Water: Inframark discovered a required water study/plan was never submitted in 2018. They composed and submitted this document to the PA DEP on December 20th and are awaiting a response.
- Upcoming Tasks: Service clarifiers, DAF service, rapid mix motor work, and DAF variable frequency drive programming.
Maintenance & Repair:
- Staff completed 80 work orders in December.
- Key tasks included ladder inspections, greasing DAF pumps/scrappers, fire extinguisher checks, SCBA inspections, sump pump exercises, and cleaning lagoon screens.
Financial Update:
- Maintenance Expenditures: Total spending included $2,200 for annual filter media analysis/inspection (Water Service Professionals) and $950. 16 for a rapid mix motor (Ram Industrial Services).
- Caps: The maintenance cap had a contract total of $26,010. 00 per year. With $4,536. 85 spent this month, the remaining balance is $6,513. 41.
Health & Safety:
- No accidents occurred in December. Personnel have worked 1,065 days (2 years, 11 months) without an injury.
- Training covered tailgate meetings, COVID-19 updates, and personal protective equipment.
Personnel:
- Luke Byrne: Water Plant Manager (PA Class A, E, Water Subclass 1,7,8,10,11).
- Kyle Smiley: Operator (PA Class A, E, Subclass 1).
Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Report
Executive Summary & Operations:
- Production: The plant treated 29. 650 million gallons of clean water to Howells Run (avg. . 956 million gallons/day).
- Sludge: 2. 982 tons of sludge were sent to the landfill.
- Compliance: SBR tank testing occurred Mon/Wed/Fri; influent/effluent compliant testing occurred Tue/Thurs. All data is entered daily for monthly reporting to the DEP.
- Upcoming Projects: The Borough Engineer is investigating a new 20" influent valve for SBR tank #2. Contractor Hickes visited the site on December 7, 2022, to assess the replacement project.
Maintenance & Repair:
- Key tasks included greasing decanters on SBR tanks, monthly safety inspections, and cleaning the centrifuge building floor.
Financial Update:
- Maintenance Expenditures: Total spending was $146. 23, covering flashlights ($28. 62), gas ($15. 00), and fire extinguisher inspection ($102. 61).
- Caps:
- Maintenance Cap: Contract total $23,895. 24/year. Remaining balance: $1,099. 69.
- Sludge Cap: Contract total $78,854. 40/year. Remaining balance: $27,478. 66.
Health & Safety:
- No accidents occurred in December. Personnel have worked 6,540 days (17 years, 9 months) without an injury.
- Training covered tailgate meetings, COVID-19 updates, personal protective equipment, and cyber security.
