Ebensburg Municipal Authority Monthly Reports (November 2022)

Inframark submitted two separate monthly reports for November 2022, dated December 19, 2022: one for the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and one for the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).


Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Report

Executive Summary

  • Treated 30,518,000 gallons of reservoir water in November.
  • Average daily treatment: 1,017,267 gallons/day.
  • Supplied water to Nanty Glo for several weeks.
  • Purchased 122,045 gallons/day from Saltlick (higher than usual due to Nanty Glo’s purchases).
  • Replaced failing pressure transmitter on upper reservoir transmission line.
  • Replaced burnt-out indicator lights on plant generator.
  • Discovered overlooked requirements in 2021 water allocation compliance report; working with borough staff and PA DEP to correct.
  • Assisted county maintenance crew on Nov 30 with water leak repair at manor drive.
  • DEP Bureau of Safe Drinking Water visited Nov 23 to collect raw source water sample for cyanotoxin analysis.
  • Assisting with SCADA monitoring while refilling hillcrest elevated tank.

Plant Operations

  • Daily production ranged from 700,000–1,339,000 gallons/day.
  • Nanty Glo purchased 360,000–432,000 gallons/day.
  • One filter taken offline daily for washing and return to service.
  • Conducted process control analysis, monitored backwash flow rates, observed filter media daily.
  • Continuously monitored clarifiers for sludge content and settling capability.
  • Adjusted flows and chemical feed rates daily; performed DAF scrapper and air saturation setpoint adjustments.

Maintenance & Repair

  • Completed 82 work orders.
  • Key tasks included: replacing pressure transmitter, ladder inspections, greasing DAF recycle pump/scraper, fire extinguisher inspection, SCBA testing, exercising sump pumps, inspecting eye wash/safety showers, greasing clarifier drives, testing chlorine room alarm, removing lagoon vault sludge, greasing finished water pumps/motors, alternating finished water pumps weekly, cleaning pH/turbidity meters, jar testing for chemical optimization, plumbing repairs, adjusting plant instrumentation for daylight savings, removing debris from spillway, monitoring filter beds, replacing generator indicator lights, cleaning lagoon screens, and general facility cleaning.
