Ebensburg Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Report - May 2023

Executive Summary

  • Water Treated: The plant treated 16. 007 million gallons of clean water to Howells Run in May 2023, averaging . 516 million gallons per day.
  • Compliance: All testing and operational requirements were met for the month.
  • Sludge Disposal: 11. 776 tons of sludge were sent to the landfill.
  • Key Project: The Influent Valve Project is complete, with new valves and actuators functioning well.

Operations & Maintenance

  • Testing Schedule: SBR tank testing occurs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Influent/effluent compliant testing is done on Tuesdays and Thursdays for DEP reporting.
  • Work Orders: 314 work orders were completed during the month, including 4 corrective actions for influent valves.

Executive Summary

  • Water Treated: The plant treated 27,967,000 gallons of reservoir water in May, averaging 902,161 gallons per day.
  • Purchased Water: An average of 57,839 gallons per day was purchased from Saltlick and blended into the distribution system.
  • Inspections: A full sanitary inspection by the Pennsylvania DEP on May 24-25 was successful with no violations noted. Minor deficiencies (lack of a carbon monoxide detector and damaged fencing) were addressed immediately.
  • Maintenance: Staff replaced a 120V relay and check valve on a sump pump, and replaced a failed caustic chemical feed line.

Operations & Maintenance

  • Production: Daily production fluctuated between 786,000 and 1,070,000 gallons.
  • Filter Maintenance: Filters are washed every 144 hours (once per week).
  • Work Orders: Inframark staff completed 88 work orders in May, including:
    • Caustic pump equipment replacement.
    • Greasing DAF recycle pump and scraper.
    • Fire extinguisher, SCBA, and ladder inspections.
    • Cleaning clarifier troughs and the lagoon vault.
