Ebensburg Municipal Authority: January 2025 WTP Monthly Report

Date: February 24, 2025 Submitted by: Luke Byrne, Project Manager (Inframark) To: Ebensburg Borough Authority Members

Executive Summary & Operations

During January 2025, the Ebensburg water treatment plant treated a total of 38,973,000 gallons of reservoir water. This represents an average daily production of 1,257,194 gallons, which is an increase of 103,613 gallons per day compared to the previous year.

  • Water Sourcing: An average of 176,492 gallons per day were purchased from Saltlick and blended into the distribution system. This volume is higher than normal due to excessive water loss in the system.
  • Water Quality: First-quarter disinfection by-product samples were collected at sites 700 Mini mall and 701 Airport. Both samples were found to be under the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for Haloacetic acids and Trihalomethanes.
  • Reservoir Levels: The upper reservoir water level is currently at -8. 5 ft, which is 0. 5 ft higher than the previous month, attributed to recent precipitation and snow melt.
  • Sampling: Inframark began UCMR5 sampling for PFAS and Lithium on January 22. Previous 2024 PFAS sampling yielded no detects. Quarterly testing will continue through 2025, with results submitted to the EPA and PA-DEP.
