Ebensburg Municipal Authority: March 2024 WTP Monthly Report

Executive Summary & Operations
- Water Production: The plant treated 35,590,000 gallons in March (avg. 1,148,065 gallons/day). This represents an increase of 252,581 gallons per day compared to historical averages.
- Purchased Water: An average of 66,459 gallons per day was purchased from Saltlick and blended into the system.
- Inspections: A partial inspection by PA DEP on March 6th went well with no deficiencies noted.
- Equipment Issues: On March 10th, power was lost to the facility. While most systems restarted successfully, the VFD for the secondary mixing on the DAF unit faulted to motor overload. Inframark is working with the manufacturer to troubleshoot this issue.
- Awards: On March 21st, Inframark staff accepted the AWOP award for Ebensburg’s Municipal Authority, validating their efforts in optimizing filter performance.
- Water Loss: 2023 data indicates a water loss of 368,677 gallons per day (36. 6%). The goal for public water suppliers is <20%.
- PFAS Monitoring: Conducted on January 31st with no detects. Next sampling is scheduled for April 17th, 2024.
- Pumping Stations:
- Hillcrest tank site is due for annual generator maintenance, scheduled for April 15th.
- Ogden pumping station chlorine residuals have been stable.
- Saltlick pumping station meter reading converter was replaced and is working properly.
Maintenance & Repair
Inframark staff completed 59 work orders in March, including:
- Fire extinguisher and SCBA inspections.
- DAF scraper adjustment and lightning mixer oil level inspections.
- Lagoon vault cleaning and float adjustments.
- Greasing clarifier drives, finished water pumps/motors, and all pump station motors.
- Cleaning clarifier troughs, pH/turbidity meters, and the facility.
- Flushing permanganate lines and replacing a pump.
