Ebensburg Municipal Authority: April 2024 WTP Monthly Report Summary

Executive Summary & Operations
- Water Production: The plant treated 33,906,000 gallons in April (avg. 1,130,200 gallons/day).
- Nanty Glo Supply: Nanty Glo purchased water for six days (April 4–10) due to heavy rainfall on April 2nd.
- Maintenance:
- Replaced a failing check valve on caustic feed equipment.
- Completed annual preventive maintenance on the Cummins generator (batteries replaced).
- Installed a sample sink for entry point samples on April 22nd.
- Testing & Compliance:
- Second quarter disinfection by-product samples (Haloacetic acids and Trihalomethanes) were collected at sites 700 Mini mall and 701 Airport. Both were under the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL). This is the sixth consecutive quarter of compliance.
- PFAS monitoring conducted on April 17th yielded no detects. Next sampling is scheduled for July 11, 2024.
- Saint Francis University tested an experimental bobber in the lower reservoir for water quality data collection.
- Upcoming Events: PA DEP will conduct a Filter Plant Performance Evaluation (FPPE) on May 23rd–24th.
Maintenance & Repair
Inframark staff completed 56 work orders in April, including:
- DAF scraper adjustment/repairs and heater thermostat replacement.
- Caustic pump check valve repairs.
- Generator battery replacement.
- SCBA and ladder inspections.
- Sump pump exercises and lightning mixer oil level checks.
- Blower lubrication and lagoon vault cleaning.
- Grease clarifier drives and cleaned clarifier troughs.
- Chlorine room alarm test.
- Greased finished water pumps/motors.
- Weekly cleaning of pH and turbidity meters.
- Jar testing to optimize chemical usage.
Financial Update
Maintenance Expenditures:
- Ace Hardware: $47. 26 (DAF heater thermostat/batteries)
- USA Bluebook: $2,367. 17 (Permanganate pump, pump parts, Asco rebuild kits)

Health & Safety
- Accidents: None reported in April.
- Safety Record: Personnel have worked 1,551 days (4 years, 4 months) without an accident or injury.
- Training: Weekly tailgate meetings, emergency response plan updates, and SCADA Failure SOP reviews were conducted.
