Ebensburg Municipal Authority Water Treatment Report (May 2026)

Inframark has submitted the May 2026 monthly report for the Ebensburg water treatment facility (WTP). The report covers operations, maintenance activities, financial updates, and personnel certifications.

Executive Summary & Operations

  • Water Production: The plant treated 31,350,000 gallons of reservoir water in May, averaging 1,000,000 gallons per day.
  • Purchased Water: An average of 64,409 gallons per day was purchased from Saltlick and blended into the distribution system.
  • Reservoir Status: The upper reservoir water level is currently 2 feet below the full pool level.
  • Intake Maintenance: Inframark worked with Greenland Construction to clean debris from the upper reservoir intake.
    • A 4ft intake valve stem was retrieved and is being repaired due to excessive corrosion.
    • Approximately 30 feet of ladder and a 3-foot piece of grating were removed.
    • This work prevented blockages and provided data for future intake structure improvements.
  • Calibrations: Annual flow meter calibrations were completed on May 6th; all meters were within compliance.
  • Sampling: Annual sampling for Inorganic (IOC), Synthetic Organic (SOC), and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) was conducted.
  • Incident Report: On May 13th, a brief power loss caused the finished water pump to fault. Staff manually closed the valve to prevent basement flooding and equipment damage. The plant was restarted without further issues.
  • Future Planning: Inframark is collaborating with Borough staff and Stiffler to complete a five-year recertification of the risk and resilience assessment. Emergency response plans are being consolidated into a single document.
