Ebensburg Municipal Authority: July 2024 WTP Monthly Report
Date: August 26, 2024 Prepared by: Luke Byrne, Project Manager
Executive Summary & Operations
During July 2024, the Ebensburg water treatment plant treated a total of 36,461,000 gallons of reservoir water. This represents an average daily production of 1,176,161 gallons, which is an increase of 315,838 gallons per day compared to historical averages for July.
- Water Purchases: An average of 72,590 gallons per day were purchased from Saltlick and blended into the distribution system. This higher-than-normal volume was due to excessive water loss and contractors flushing lines for a water line project.
- Water Quality: Third-quarter disinfection by-product samples (collected at sites 700 Mini mall and 701 Airport) were found to be under the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for Haloacetic acids and Trihalomethanes. This marks the seventh consecutive quarter of compliance.
- PFAS Monitoring: Third-quarter PFAS monitoring was conducted on July 9th, yielding no detects. The next sampling is scheduled for October 8th.
- Regulatory Compliance: Inframark submitted a study/plan (dated 12-20-22) to the PA DEP regarding historical water loss and unaccounted-for water; a response is pending. Additionally, Inframark staff continued working with the PA DEP in June and August to answer questions about the treatment facility to update state records following a filter plant performance evaluation conducted on May 23-24.

Inframark staff completed 63 work orders in July. Key activities included:

- Performed DAF scraper repairs on the drive side, raising it roughly 3/4 inch for clearance.

- Completed cement repairs on WTP dock steps and block faces, followed by painting.
