Ebensburg WWTP Monthly Report: December 2025

Executive Summary & Operations

During December 2025, the Ebensburg wastewater treatment plant treated a total of 25,574,000 gallons of wastewater.

Key operational highlights and maintenance activities included:

  • Sludge Management: The centrifuge was operated three times, resulting in 7. 49 tons of dry sludge sent to the landfill.
  • Equipment Repairs:
    • A faulty motor contactor on the screening unit was replaced.
    • A failing thermostat in the old chlorine room building was replaced to restore heat.
    • A split PVC water line in the basement pipe gallery caused minor flooding and damaged an electrical outlet; both have been repaired.
  • Power Issues: Staff are working with a Penelec engineer to investigate monthly power outages. A data recorder has been installed on the transformer to gather more information.
  • Routine Maintenance: Sewer lift stations were inspected regularly, including checking pump runtime, inspecting generators, and cleaning basket screeners. All lift station buildings were swept and cleaned.

Financial Update

The following expenditures were recorded for maintenance supplies:

  • Amazon: $442. 51 (Battery powered working lights/Drill Bits/PT holders)
  • Grainger: $262. 88 (Hammer drill)
  • Ace Hardware: $17. 08 (Light fixtures)

Budget Caps Status:

  • Maintenance Cap: $2,604. 47 remaining balance.
  • Sludge Cap: $640. 09 remaining balance.
  • Chemical Cap: $1,810. 47 remaining balance.

Health & Safety

  • There were no accidents in December.
  • Personnel have worked 2,161 days (6 years) without an accident or injury.
  • Safety protocols included weekly tailgate meetings, safety flash reports, and lockout/tagout procedures.
