Ebensburg WWTP Monthly Report: February 2026

This report details the operations and maintenance of the Ebensburg wastewater treatment facility for February 2026.

Executive Summary & Operations

  • Wastewater Treated: The plant treated a total of 27,549,100 gallons, averaging 983,896 gallons per day.
  • Sludge Disposal: 8. 1 tons of dry sludge were sent to the landfill.
  • Compliance: All samples collected in February were in compliance with regulations. Testing for pH, dissolved oxygen, and other parameters was conducted as scheduled.

Maintenance & Repairs

Staff completed 82 work orders during the month. Key activities included:

  • Frozen Line Repair: The well water line froze due to extreme cold. Staff thawed the 2-inch line using warm water and installed a new hose bib. Plumbing modifications were made to isolate the headworks and centrifuge lines in case of future breaks.
  • Pump Repairs: Packing flange bolts on sludge pump #1 were replaced after the old ones corroded. Process water pump #1 was pulled for evaluation due to recurring faults; a rebuild kit has been ordered.
  • Grit Blower Rebuild: Grit blower #2 was taken out of service, rebuilt with new bearings and seals, and is now running well.
  • Other Maintenance: Work included greasing decanters, cleaning screening units and UV channels, installing LED lights in the basement, and performing monthly safety inspections.

  • Sludge Cap: $6,823. 72 spent this month; $74,496. 24 remaining balance.
  • Chemical Cap: No spending this month; $21,893. 58 remaining balance.

Health & Safety

  • There were no accidents in February.
  • Personnel have worked 2,219 days (6 years and 2 months) without an accident or injury.
  • Ongoing safety activities include weekly tailgate meetings, safety flash reports, and weekly process control meetings.
