Ebensburg Municipal Authority WWTP Monthly Report - March 2025

Report Date: April 28th, 2025 Prepared by: Luke Byrne, Inframark Water Infrastructure Operations

Executive Summary & Operations

During March 2025, the Ebensburg wastewater treatment plant treated a total of 24,154,000 gallons of wastewater (averaging 779,161 gallons per day).

Key operational activities included:

  • Sludge Management: The centrifuge was operated semi-weekly, sending 6. 02 tons of dry sludge to the landfill.
  • Valve Repair: Staff set up scaffolding in the basement to free a stuck valve that hadn't been operated in years. This allows sludge to be sent to the final thickener instead of back to the head of the plant, helping reduce SBR loading on weekends.
  • Parkson Screener Rebuild: Inframark partnered with RAM Industrial to rebuild the Parkson screener in the headworks building. The repair involves replacing bearings, brushes, sprockets, and various seals/rails. The project is estimated to take 3-4 days during low-flow periods.
  • Garage Door Installation: A new garage door was installed on the headworks building because the old one was deteriorated and would bind up, preventing garbage haulers from removing roll-offs.
  • Pump Repairs: Staff repaired packing glands on one centrifuge feed pump and are obtaining a quote for the other.
  • Lift Stations: Sewer lift stations were inspected regularly, pump runtime hours documented, generators exercised, and basket screeners cleaned. A block heater was replaced on the CAT pumping stations.

Inframark staff completed 82 work orders in March. Routine maintenance included:
