Executive Summary of Operations

Inframark submitted the May 2026 monthly report for the Ebensburg wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) to the Borough of Ebensburg. Key operational statistics and maintenance activities included:

  • Wastewater Volume: The plant treated a total of 27,853,000 gallons during the month, averaging 898,484 gallons per day.
  • Sludge Disposal: The centrifuge was operated weekly, resulting in 8. 99 tons of dry sludge sent to the landfill.
  • Lighting Upgrades: Staff replaced damaged high-pressure sodium fixtures with new LED lights to improve safety and reduce electrical costs.
  • Equipment Repairs:
    • UV Unit: A nonfunctional UVT sensor was repaired by replacing a damaged 1-inch glass rod with an acrylic round rod.
    • Generator: Annual preventive maintenance was performed on the Cummins generator. A factory exercise program was identified as the cause of monthly power outages and has been deleted from the panel.
    • Influent Sampler: New pump tubing was installed to replace old, cracked, and leaking lines.
    • SBR #4 Air Valve: The AUMA actuator failed, preventing the valve from shutting. It was replaced, and the old unit was sent to the factory for repair.
    • Perimeter Fence: Repairs were completed on fence sections damaged by a tree.
  • Future Planning: Contractors were onsite to quote necessary repairs, which will be budgeted for in capital planning.

Health & Safety

  • Accident Record: There were no accidents in May. Personnel have now worked 2,312 days (6 years and 5 months) without an accident or injury.
  • Training: Inframark conducted weekly tailgate meetings, safety flash reports, and process control meetings.
