Ebensburg Municipal Authority WWTP Monthly Report (May 2025)

Report Date: June 23rd, 2025
Prepared by: Luke Byrne, Project Manager (Inframark)
Submitted to: Ebensburg Borough Authority Members

Executive Summary

During May 2025, the Ebensburg wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) treated a total of 31,425,900 gallons of wastewater — averaging 1,013,739 gallons per day.

Key operational highlights:

  • The centrifuge was operated semiweekly; 15. 1 tons of dry sludge were sent to landfill.
  • Staff inspected the centrifuge for long-term reliability and installed a new drive motor belt. Bearings are being checked with a local electric motor company.
  • A worn centrifuge conveyor liner was identified; quotes are being obtained from Centrisys for repair or replacement.
  • Bank A of the UV unit was raised and three bulbs replaced.
  • The polymer feed system experienced shutdowns during centrifuge operation. An electric solenoid and start/stop relay in the PLC cabinet were replaced, resolving the issue.
  • A new pH probe was installed in the WWTP lab after the old one failed calibration checks.
  • A new electrical control board was installed on the influent auto sampler to fix temperature regulation issues.
  • Sewer lift stations were inspected regularly: pump runtime documented, generators exercised, wet wells pumped down, flanges/seats checked for leaks (none found), floats/transducers verified working, basket screeners cleaned, and buildings swept.

On the Radar (Upcoming Items):

  • Screening unit repairs
  • Grit blower repairs
  • SCADA programming
  • Process water cover

Operations & Compliance

Testing Schedule:
