Ebensburg Municipal Authority WWTP Monthly Report (June 2025)
Report Date: July 28, 2025
Prepared by: Luke Byrne, Project Manager (Inframark)
Submitted to: Ebensburg Borough Authority Members
Executive Summary
- Wastewater Treated: 30,056,500 gallons in June (avg. 1,001,900 gal/day).
- Sludge Disposal: 11. 75 tons of dry sludge sent to landfill via semiweekly centrifuge operation.
- Flooding Incident: Heavy rainfall caused hydraulic overload and a sanitary sewer overflow (SSO). The facility’s outfall was 3 feet underwater. Inframark reported the event to PA DEP; it will be classified as an unavoidable noncompliance incident.
- Equipment Damage: Headworks dumpster pushed into garage door during flooding — staff repaired it successfully.
- Parkson Screening Unit Rebuild: Completed in 1. 5 days with Ram Industrial. Original quote: $12,800; actual cost: $1,750.
- Centrifuge Motor Repair: Pulled, sent to shop for new bearing, drive sheave, and taper lock. Reinstalled and running well.
- Electrical Equipment Evaluation: Camco provided pricing for MCC, busbar, and breaker evaluation. Recommendation: clean and service due to age to prevent catastrophic failure.
- Lift Stations: Regular inspections conducted. Catch basket at Emerald repaired. Pump runtime documented, generators exercised, wet wells pumped down, flanges/seats checked for leaks (none found). Floats/transducers working properly. Basket screeners cleaned. Buildings swept and cleaned.
Upcoming Items (“On the Radar”):
