Ebensburg Municipal Authority WWTP Monthly Report - July 2024

Date: August 26, 2024 Submitted by: Luke Byrne, Inframark

Executive Summary & Operations

  • Wastewater Volume: The plant treated 13,625,600 gallons of wastewater in July (average of 469,500 gallons per day).
  • Sludge Management: The centrifuge ran once a week, sending 8. 7 tons of dry sludge to the landfill.
  • Equipment Repairs:
    • Screening Unit: Inframark is rebuilding the screening unit with a local fabricator. New bearings, drive shafts, fingers, brushes, and seals are required. The auger press was inspected and is working properly.
    • VFD Issue: A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) controlling SBR#4 decanter faulted four times due to heat from the blower building. A new unit has been ordered; a cooling fan was installed temporarily.
  • Facility Maintenance: The garage area was organized with new shelving. Drying beds were cleaned out and will be refilled in October. Lawn areas damaged by last year's valve replacement project are being fixed with topsoil for fall planting.
  • Lift Stations: Sewer lift stations were inspected regularly. The Industrial Park station's runtime was reduced significantly after June repairs. A supplemental report details a 14-hour daily reduction at the Marine Center lift station.

Compliance & Testing

  • SBR Tank Testing: Conducted Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for process control (Settleability, MLSS, MLVSS).
  • DEP Reporting: Influent and effluent testing (TSS, BOD, Phosphorus, Nitrogen, Ammonia, Fecal Coliform) is completed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Daily Monitoring: Effluent pH, Dissolved Oxygen, and UV intensity are recorded daily.
  • Data Entry: All data is entered into WIMS for E-DMR monthly reporting, with reports sent to the DEP by the 28th of each month.

  • Work Orders: Staff completed 92 work orders in July.
