Ebensburg Municipal Authority: August 2025 WWTP Monthly Report

This report details the operations and maintenance of the Ebensburg wastewater treatment facility for August 2025.

Executive Summary & Operations

  • Wastewater Volume: The plant treated a total of 16,173,900 gallons, averaging 521,738 gallons per day.
  • Sludge Disposal: The centrifuge was operated twice, resulting in 8. 69 tons of dry sludge being sent to the landfill.
  • Equipment Repairs:
    • UV Unit: A faulty contactor was identified and replaced after the UV unit's coolant pump failed. A spare part was purchased.
    • Centrifuge: An emergency stop was required when the polymer mixing chamber became clogged and broke.
  • Maintenance Activities:
    • Ongoing duckweed removal was performed.
    • The process water control valve became clogged, requiring maintenance on the effluent tank.
    • A new faucet was installed in the lab sink.
    • Sewer lift stations were inspected regularly; no leaks were found, and basket screeners were cleaned.
    • Dodson Electric continued work on conduit projects in the headworks.

Maintenance Expenditures:

  • Teledyne Instruments: $272. 42 (Sampler tubes)
  • Amazon: $203. 65 (Lab faucet/plumbing fixtures)
  • Tractor Supply: $184. 40 (Weed killer/hydraulic fluid)
  • Sheetz: $49. 29 (Fuel for mower/pumps)
  • Ace Hardware: $46. 57 (Toilet repairs)
  • Grainger: $38. 16 (SBR hoist clamps)
  • Long Barn: $13. 99 (UV Hose)

Budget Caps:

  • Maintenance Cap: $11,430. 50 remaining (of a $25,950. 84 annual contract).
  • Sludge Cap: $22,832. 56 remaining (of an $83,042. 76 annual contract).
  • Chemical Cap: $10,846. 84 remaining (of a $23,251. 92 annual contract).

Health & Safety

  • There were no accidents or injuries reported in August.
  • Personnel have worked 2,039 days (5 years and 8 months) without an accident.
  • Training: Weekly tailgate meetings were held, along with training on the UV coolant electrical schematic and headworks wash bar function.
