New Police Leadership
Ebensburg has welcomed two new police officers:
- Chief Joe Loughran: Joined the department in August after a 25-year career with the Pennsylvania State Police, retiring as Captain. He aims to keep the department professional and responsive while preserving the community's small-town feel.
- Officer Jim Bogus: Started in October as a full-time officer after previously working part-time with the borough and full-time at Saint Francis University.
New Local Businesses
The following businesses have opened or are opening in Ebensburg:
- Barrels of Fun Exploration Center: Now has a second location at 518 N. Center Street (existing location: 302 Reddinger Street).
- Bodies in Harmony: Located at 611 W. Lloyd Street.
- Your Mom’s Purse: A discount store located at Ebensburg Mini Mall, New Germany Road.
- Impact Truck Service: Located at 173 Municipal Road.
- Escape Room Ebensburg: Coming soon to the Ebensburg Mini Mall at 3133 New Germany Road.
Library Programming
The Ebensburg Cambria Public Library offers regular programming, including:
- Storytimes: Various sessions for ages birth through 9 are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
- Clubs: Lego Club (Ages 6-12) and Pick-Up Sticks (Knitting/Crocheting).
- Adults: Game Day and Book Club.
- Summer Events: Upcoming events include SummerQuest, Plant Sale, Music on the Patio, and Used Book Sale.
Health & Wellness Facility (YPCC)
The Ebensburg Borough Health & Wellness Facility offers fitness memberships and rentals:
- Membership Fees: Adult ($35), Seniors/Student/Military ($30), Family ($60).
- Specials: Purchase 3 months and get 1 free; purchase 6 months and get 2 free.
- Rental Programs: Cross-country ski/bike rentals are available at Lake Rowena.
- Pavilion Rentals: Available at Lake Rowena and the Borough Swimming Pool for $100. 00 plus a $25. 00 cleaning deposit.
- Outdoor Rink: Open year-round at Lake Rowena for street or in-line hockey (free).
- Swimming Pool: Open May 25, 2024. Rates range from $7 (walk-in adult) to $150 (season pass adult).

Backflow Prevention Advisory
The Borough warns residents that water/wastewater backups are not the borough's responsibility. Residents are advised to install backflow prevention devices to protect their property, as standard homeowners insurance typically does not cover this type of loss.
