Inspection Findings
The dam was found to be in generally good condition, but the following specific issues were noted and require attention:
- Spillway Wall Cracks:
- A growing crack was previously identified in the upper section of the downstream western spillway wall, which had been sliding downhill.
- In 2019, the damaged upper section was removed and cut flush.
- Current Status: Three new hairline cracks were observed on the lower wall section where the upper part was removed. These must be monitored to ensure the lower section does not slide similarly.
- Vegetation: Vegetation on the upstream embankment slope requires cutting.
- Wet Area/Seepage:
- A wet area was identified on the southern side of the dam access road.
- Flow rate increased from approximately 1 GPM last year to 2-3 GPM currently.
- The wet area extends into a patch of wetlands near the Water Treatment Plant Parking Area.
- It is unclear if this is due to dam seepage or mountain runoff, but it must continue to be monitored for changes.
