Sewer Connection Diagram Summary

    • 90° bend specified near cleanout.
  • Vent System:

    • Air vent cap required on vertical vent stack.
    • Vent must extend at least 12" above grade.
    • Optional trap & vent assembly noted.
  • Backflow Prevention:

    • Backflow prevention device is optional but recommended.
    • Connection to existing building sewer must use Fernco coupling with reinforced stainless steel bands or adaptor.
  • Building Wall & Sewer Line:

    • Building sewer connects through wall with proper clearance.
    • Maximum distance from building wall to vent: 5'-0".
  • Material Requirements:

    • Pipe material: SDR-35 or adapt to Sch. 40 if applicable.
    • Frame and cover (if used): East Jordan Iron Works Inc. , Pattern No. 1565 or Neenah Model No. R-1975-A2 or equal.

Purpose:

This diagram serves as a standard reference for contractors, inspectors, and homeowners to ensure compliant, safe, and functional sanitary sewer connections that prevent backups, odors, and environmental contamination.
