Project Overview
This document is the cover page and table of contents for a Stormwater Conveyance System Analysis Report prepared for the Borough of Ebensburg, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. The report was prepared by L. R. Kimball (a CDI Company) in September 2013.
Purpose and Scope
- Goal: To provide a preliminary design for future stormwater improvements throughout the borough.
- Function: The report serves as a planning tool to help the Borough make informed decisions regarding storm sewer improvement projects.
- Limitations: It does not represent a final design. The analysis focuses strictly on the conveyance system (pipes) and does not address outflow impacts or broader stormwater management issues.
- Study Area: Limited to developed areas within the Borough, extending no further than the former Pennsylvania Railroad grade (now Ghost Town Trail).
Watershed Analysis
The analysis identified three distinct watersheds based on the natural terrain:
- Watershed A: Flows from Highland Avenue south into an unnamed tributary under Center Street in the Uni-Mart area.
- Watershed B: Flows from Highland Avenue southeasterly into Howells Run and Lake Rowena.
- Watershed C: Flows north from Highland Avenue into an unnamed tributary that flows east toward the Ebensburg water reservoir.
Data Sources
Information for the analysis was gathered from:
- Cambria County aerial photography.
- Borough mapping records.
- Information from past projects completed by Kimball in the area.
- Site visits performed by Kimball to verify existing conditions.
